Lichens are a unique group of plant like organisms consisting of a symbiotic relationship between a fungus and algae. Lichens are found all around us, growing on sides of trees, on rocks, etc. In order for lichens to protect themselves from harmful sun damage, they naturally produce Vitamin D as a protective mechanism. Lichen-based Vitamin D3 is known for being free from toxins and other contaminants. It is the same natural form of D3 that our body produces to protect our cells when exposed to sunlight, making this a highly absorbable source of vitamin D3.

Recommended Dose (Adults): 1 capsule a day with food. To be taken with an adequate intake of calcium.

15-20 mcg (600-800 IU) of vitamin D per day is an adequate quantity for most individuals. Consult a health care practitioner/health care provider prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have kidney disorders, if you take any prescription medications including antacids, anticonvulsants, digoxin, cholestyramine, colestipol, mineral oil, steroids, statins or thiazide diuretics, if you take other vitamin D supplements, multivitamin supplements containing vitamin D, or products containing vitamin D analogues or if you take any prescription medications including thiazide diuretics. Do not use this product if you have hypercalcemia and/or hypercalciuria.
