Directions & Cautions

Directions

Before first use, sterilize the cup:

  • Boil the Diva Cup in an open pot of water for 5 to 7 minutes to ensure it's completely sanitized before use.

Daily Use:

  • Always wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before handling the Diva Cup.
  • Fold the Diva Cup using one of the two recommended folds—U Fold or Push Down Fold.
    • U Fold: Press the sides of the cup together and then fold it in half again forming a U shape.
    • Push Down Fold: Hold the cup with one hand and push down on the rim with the index finger of the other hand to collapse the rim to the base.
  • Insert the Cup: Relax your muscles and insert the folded cup into your vagina, tilting it back towards the base of your spine. The cup should sit a few inches below your cervix.
  • Ensure a Proper Seal: Once the cup is in place, rotate it 360 degrees to create a seal that prevents leaks. You can also gently pull on the stem to ensure it's secure.

The Diva Cup can be worn for up to 12 hours, depending on your menstrual flow.

Removal: Gently pull the stem of the cup until you can reach the base. Pinch the base to release the seal and carefully pull the cup out. Empty the contents into the toilet. Rinse the cup with cold water to prevent staining and then wash with warm water and Diva Wash or a mild, unscented soap.
