The Calendula flowers are harvested by hand, then cleaned and prepared, before being taken to the Boiron laboratories within 72 hours. They are transported in refrigerated lorries, so that they retain all the qualities of freshly picked flowers. The Calendula flowers undergo rigorous botanical testing to identify and verify the species. Next they are crushed, macerated, pressed and filtered. The resulting extracts are submitted to microbiological and physico-chemical analysis to ensure that they are completely pure. And it is only upon completion of all these tests that any ingredient can be used to make a Boiron homeopathic medicine.
